fontify text between quote marks in org-mode reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiktaaliki · 2022-08-29 18:45 hi, i would like to know how to fontify text between quote marks in org-mode. the way it appears in my scratch buffer, which is lisp i believe, would be great. example here: [https://imgur.com/a/C1eaQAd](https://imgur.com/a/C1eaQAd) i found this post that seemingly describes how to do it, but i evaluated the code given in the response and it doesn't seem to have had an effect: [https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/44578/using- org-mode-for-writing-would-like-text-in-quotes-to-be-highlighted-and- also](https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/44578/using-org-mode- for-writing-would-like-text-in-quotes-to-be-highlighted-and-also) any assistance would be appreciated! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rguy84 · 2022-08-30 00:44 Did you check to see if the theme you are using has org-ellipsis defined? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edumerco · 2022-08-30 01:41 You can use highlight-phrase. I'm in my phone now, but search for that in the book "mastering emacs". You can add it to your init and it will be persistent. :) HTH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiktaaliki · 2022-08-30 17:26 yes, org-ellipsis is defined (custom by me, not by theme) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiktaaliki · 2022-08-30 17:26 will give it a try thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tiktaaliki · 2022-09-04 12:57 hi, i tried this and it works great! i am not sure how to add it to my init, could you point me in the right direction? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- edumerco · 2022-09-04 14:35 Happy it worked! :) I am in mobile now with limited connection, but I remember that each time I do it I go back to the book "mastering emacs". In the same article about highlighting is the recipe to make it permanent, at least per file. I use it a lot for usability tests and it works great. :)
