Looking for emacs package recommendations for code-formatting in emacs? reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- omeow · 2022-06-07 07:43 I am looking for suggestions for some general code-formatter to use in emacs. Upon googling, I saw some discussion from a few years ago. I am wondering if you have any recommendations? Thank you so much ---------------------------------------------------------------------- doolio_ · 2022-06-07 08:21 I'm aware of the following: [raxod502/apheleia](https://github.com/radian-software/apheleia) [purcell/emacs-reformatter](https://github.com/purcell/emacs- reformatter) [lassik/emacs-format-all-the-code](https://github.com/lassik/emacs- format-all-the-code) There is also [an effort](https://github.com/lassik/emacs-format-all- the-code/issues/170) to merge all three which would be great. Edit: Fix typo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- drhupf · 2022-06-07 08:58 You might want to check out https://github.com/jscheid/prettier.el ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hairlesscaveman · 2022-06-07 09:04 I’ve been using aphelia for a while now. It has configurable backends for things like prettier, so works with a lot of languages. It’s also really unobtrusive, and you get used to the format-on-the-fly nature of it really quickly. I’m using it with Elixir and TypeScript currently and it does a great job. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- akirakom · 2022-06-07 21:20 If your language server supports formatting, an LSP client (lsp- mode/eglot) could serve it.
