GNU Emacs as a lightweight IDE (Call tree) reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- atamariya · 2022-05-23 16:19 https://preview.redd.it/hrfsq63k39191.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=w ebp&s=ae2901d315641f5cab7481b389aac4414d4d01a0 **Details:** [**https://lifeofpenguin.blogspot.com/2021/04/gnu-emacs- as-lightweight- ide.html**](https://lifeofpenguin.blogspot.com/2021/04/gnu-emacs-as- lightweight-ide.html) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nv-elisp · 2022-05-23 19:09 Id tone down the background of your frames for demo screen shots. The one you've been using is visually distracting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- InternalImpact2 · 2022-05-23 19:59 Just take back emacs to clisp to get multithread support. Nobody wants plants or lolis behind the code ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight100 · 2022-05-24 00:33 How did you get the background in Emacs? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arthurno1 · 2022-05-24 00:47 https://github.com/wachikun/emacs_bgex ---------------------------------------------------------------------- atamariya · 2022-05-24 03:58 https://lifeofpenguin.blogspot.com/2022/02/zen-emacs.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- amanol · 2022-05-24 04:26 `rtags` and `LSP` offer much richer and better experience then CEDET those days. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight100 · 2022-05-24 17:37 This is great! Is there any chance this feature could be added to Emacs core? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- atamariya · 2022-05-25 08:17 This post might give an impression that it's (call tree) a small addition. However, it's built on top of huge custom code for CEDET semantic, symref and wid-edit.el (plus svg.el and image.el - if you consider the UI). The blog post should give you some idea. Hence, adding to Emacs core is a long journey. You shouldn't hold your breath for it. **Edit:** I guess you meant background image feature. Emacs community is too sensitive about UI - be it underline, ticks or background. See the top voted comment. So I won't even try. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2022-05-25 09:55 [deleted]
