Why org-table and table.el aren't unified?

Yes, It's frustrating, I'm using org-table and set \`#+startup:
shrink\` by default, and everytime I finished editing a long column, I
just call \`org-table-shrink\` to make it less wide. and whenever i
need to see a long column, I call \`display-local-help\` to see it's
contents. It's not quiet convenient but at least working for me. BTW,
\`table.el\` is way to fragile, and you should be careful when editing
the borders and seperators. Please check this

I am totally with you and also looking forward to a better solution
for tables with multiline cell content.
