Best plugin to quickly type LaTeX math expressions (via

Hi all. As title says, I'm looking for a minor mode that allows me to
quickly type math expressions in my markdown documents. I'd like it to
not interfere with my custom keybinding for markdown-mode. How can I
deal with that?

I've already tried cdlatex. That's really comfy, but now I can't write
"\_" anywhere in the document as it gets replaced by $_{}$ **even**
outside math fragments in my Markdown document. I could rebind every
cdlatex command to check for a specific font face but I feel like it
would pollute my config
