Can I limit the number of TODO entries in my org-todo-list ? reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- copperbranch · 2022-03-03 18:45 I often get overwhelmed at the number of things in my TODO list, and end up avoiding looking at it at all. I would like to be able to limit the number of TODO's displayed there (say 5 TODO's), and some way of moving to next/previous 5. Is it possible to do it in the regular org-todo-list view? Do I need a custom view? if so, how would I do it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ajgrf · 2022-03-03 20:25 Check out [org-super-agenda](https://github.com/alphapapa/org-super- agenda). It gives you a bunch of tools to organize your agenda, including the `:take` keyword which does what you want. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Evil_Yves · 2022-03-03 20:55 You can limit the number of elements presented in your org-agenda view with the variable `org-agenda-max-todos`. For example: (setq org-agenda-custom-commands '(("d" "Dashboard" ((agenda "" (todo "TODO" ((org-agenda-max-todos 10)))))))) For examples and a good video you can watch this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNE- mgkZ6HM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNE-mgkZ6HM) Take a look in the show-notes (there is a link to the org-file in the description) If you want to customize even further take a look at the org manual: [https://orgmode.org/manual/Agenda- Views.html](https://orgmode.org/manual/Agenda-Views.html) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- copperbranch · 2022-03-04 01:05 >(setq org-agenda-custom-commands '(("d" "Dashboard" ((agenda "" (todo "TODO" ((org-agenda-max-todos 10)))))))) Cool, thanks! I tried it, and it does limit the number of todo's like I want. But I also need to be able to have some kind of "show next 5", otherwise it will not be useful for me. I'll take a further look at it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- copperbranch · 2022-03-04 01:06 Nice! I'll take a look at it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- github-alphapapa · 2022-03-04 07:54 See also: https://github.com/alphapapa/org-ql
