Evil leader key is getting in the way of describe-key reddit / emacs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- patchikin · 2022-02-08 11:10 I am running evil in Emacs, and use the leader key extensively. I have set Space as `evil-leader` and assigned a key to it as follows: (evil-define-key 'normal my-intercept-mode-map (kbd "SPC") 'evil- send-leader) (evil-define-key 'normal 'global (kbd "a") 'my/foo-bar) When I run `describe-key` followed by `SPC a`, I would it to take me to `my/foo-bar`. Instead it takes me to `evil-send-leader`. How can I have `describe-key SPC a` take me to `my/foo-bar`? In Doom Emacs this worked, but running my own config I cannot find how to get this to work. TIA! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zwindl · 2022-06-12 14:46 AFAIK, the \`evil-set-leader\` is the correct function to set a leader key, but I can't let it work properly, either. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- meatgrinder · 2022-09-17 14:02 A bit late to the party, but I ran into this as well. I have no convenient solution, but it is possible to invoke `describe-key` directly: (describe-key (kbd " f f"))
