Indent guide lines in emacs

Hey emacs users - anyone use indent guide-lines ? and if you do, how
have you configured it? So far Ive come across a few solutions but for
some reason it makes emacs really slow ? I'm trying to get really
close to something like this:

Yeah, I opted for this package as well - I'll plug your config in and
see how it works. Thanks for sharing!

Also, do you get random lag when using it? For some reason.. mine gets
laggy in files with a lot of code.
