Looking to add email to my Win32 BBS.  Either through a uucp gateway,
or using a door.  I tried tiemailw, but it doesn't work remotely,
though it is a possible solution.  I tried igate, but couldn't figure
out how to tie it to the email server or the jam bases as it wasn't
very well documented.  Are there any popular solutions that work well
and can be registered?  irex works inbound, but not outbound.  I had
it working in the past, but it doesn't support nonstandard smtp ports
as near as I can tell.  I'd really like to be able to offer email, but
my isp blocks port 25, so I need to use an uplink via my mx record and
a nonstandard port locally.  Any help out there?

Long story short, if you actually want anyone to receive said email,
you will need to use a relay, and you'll need to use nonstandard ports
as typically port 25 outbound is blocked for noncommercial internet
connections as an antispam tactic.

I have a relay.  I need a tool to transport the email from an smtp
server domain to and from netmail.  Fastecho and my BBS can do the
reset.  Igate requires a uucp account.  I have a linux (debian 12) vm,
but wasn't able to figure that out.  Internet REX supposedly does
this, but I haven't been able to get it to work with my smtp server
(hmailserver), only pop3.  Is there a win32 solution that I could try?

What BBS software do you use?  If you use Synchronet, DigitalMan
offers free relaying of outgoing SMTP Mail through Vertrauen

I'm using EleBBs, a Win32 BBS software that is an RA Clone.  I figured
out what was going on with Irex, I was packing netmail in fastecho
instead of processing it as .msg files.  It's still not quite working
(I have to figure out dkim, dmarc and spf), but it's closer.

Can't help ya, I ended up not bothering with email for my BBS due to
the additional headache. I could have just relayed through synchro.net
myself, but in the end the whole exercise wasn't worthwhile. Lots of
homelabbers run into the issue as well.
