What non-door games are you serving on your BBS? reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ten-oh-four · 2023-10-23 21:57 I have a number of roguelike games on my BBS which are not actual doorgames but I'm able to make them available to users anyway. I've seen some people serve interactive fiction (i.e., Zork). What console/terminal games do you think would work well in a BBS? Any specific links or anything would be appreciated! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- toadstoolpp · 2023-10-23 22:10 i saw someone using cmatrix... had to drop carrier =p ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ten-oh-four · 2023-10-23 22:18 ha! Yeah. I file that one under amusements but not really games :P ---------------------------------------------------------------------- toadstoolpp · 2023-10-23 22:20 https://itsfoss.com/best-command-line-games-linux/ hook us up with some space invaders ---------------------------------------------------------------------- digitlman · 2023-10-24 00:58 Open Adventure: [https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:door:adventure](https://wiki.synchro.n et/howto:door:adventure) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nevarro · 2023-10-24 03:53 Ruins of Kaldore is a rogue like game I built from scratch using Visual Studio in C#. It's not an actual door game, but it's built so it automatically adapts to screen width whether running it from cli or a BBS :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ten-oh-four · 2023-10-24 04:30 Awesome! Gonna check it out now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kert_vennington · 2023-10-24 09:35 Possibly Nethack, via the dgamelaunch telnet front-end? Not sure how well it would play via ansi settings most bbs terminals use though. Also, you'd have to disable its ability to drop to shell and/or run shell commands from the game (possible, either config options or maybe compile time settings). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElderDrake · 2023-10-25 11:34 I just played a few rounds this morning and found this thread while trying to see if it was available for download somewhere. Nice work, it is fun and I'll be back. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nevarro · 2023-10-25 14:10 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ShooterJennings · 2023-10-26 04:03 My games are technically not door games, as they don't use door files. But they are all built using the Wildcat WCCODE. The newest one Automatic Adventure is constantly being updated and is available only on my bbs Wizard's Rainbow ([wizardsrainbow.com:23](https://wizardsrainbow.com:23)) The rest are available on the BCR Games Server which is available on a lot of BBSes but also directly accessible at bcrgames.com:31337
