Legend Of the Red Dragon reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- the_darkener · 2023-02-23 01:01 I’ve been playing L.O.R.D. and have been sacrificing a lot of time saving my gold instead of incrementing up and losing a ton of gold in the process. My standing was on a steady decline. I was getting my ass handed to me on a daily basis. I was saving though, and marking milestones in my savings for when Seth Able would double my gold in ‘ye old bank’ (“Somewhere, magic has happened!”) to provide an opportunity for me to buy matching upgraded weapon + armor as a pair. I kept passing milestones and going, ‘Ok… this is good, just need to double my gold.’ But for so long, it felt like I was being taunted by the decades-old function that randomized what gift Sethy-boy would appropriate me each day. I passed many-a milestone where I could get a proverbial leg up on the pile. Paralleling things happening IRL it felt like I may be forever doomed to steadily decline in status. But then… Today was the day. I just surpassed 10M gold (I know, @ Level 8) and after a streak of what seemed like a utter fucking eternity where magic had *not*, in fact, happened… It happened. I doubled my gold. Crystal Shard & Magic Protection, beeyotch! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Iromeo256 · 2023-02-23 01:40 Hell yeah! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PaulLee420 · 2023-02-23 02:40 :P Thats sick - tbh, I didn't know about this secret and always wondered what magic had taken place. I remember this happening a lot more often than what you described. :P Glad you got a big payout - w00t w00t! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- veeb0rg · 2023-02-23 04:41 Just be warned, 2b in gold glitches and will reset you to 0. I found out the hard way, had 2b in gold and sold my weapon to buy the best. This put me over the limit and gave me a negative number which then reset to 0, leaving me broke and with no weapon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- the_darkener · 2023-02-23 05:14 That suuuuuuuuucks!! Thanks for the tip! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-02-23 05:28 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- veeb0rg · 2023-02-23 06:27 Yes, I understand the limits in the programming. I was just giving a warning. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NeonSomething · 2023-02-23 12:54 Awesome! That is the key strategy in always touting in my LORD videos. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- weedandbombs · 2023-02-23 14:49 it's been probably 25 or 30 years, but I remember just making sure I deposited all my gold in the bank after every few fights ---------------------------------------------------------------------- the_darkener · 2023-02-23 15:41 LORD Videos? :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NeonSomething · 2023-02-23 17:36 Yes, at the risk of shamelessly self-promoting, [here is a playlist](h ttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2nZxD3BlyL99S- HWyjZsV4R9JgvL1KyV) of the six videos I've done so far. One more is forthcoming. I documented an entire tournament I played on Realm of Serion BBS a couple of years ago, and this is it. :)
