TWGS won't run on Linux but if you get a fresh Tradewars game going, I
might drop by.

EDIT: Just saw that you've got one but it doesn't work :(

I'm currently working on getting it running locally. I've gotten it
working in a Windows VM with pass through. I'm also looking into
doing something similar with OS/2 to allow me to run the originals.

I'll look into the current one not working. It's hosted by BBSLink
and JumpGate.

What area of the world are you coming from? Not seeing any issues, and
I have 10 open nodes. So far never hit capacity.

There are some geo-ip based firewall rules for active bot nets, and
some regions. I can look into it.

my mistake. I found it. I fat fingered the domain. Added a K to the
stardoc

WWIVPENGUIN · 2023-02-19 15:18

I've verified the JumpGate link is down.

I'll be adding a local one soon. Waiting on my registration keys for
TWGS.

Local Modern TWGS is up with 4 games.

If you are interested in something specific I'm open to ideas.

Remote TWGS has also been fixed via BBSLINK.

Dude this is freaking amazing!!! I went down nostalgia lane tonight
and found this thread.

When I was like 14 I ran a WWiV board for a bit, nothing fancy, it was
about 1994/5(?), so people were already switching over to Yahoo, AOL,
and BBS's were on the way out for the most part.

Amazing times though, for us super nerds and people with interest in
computers/networking more than the average Joe then.

I recently found a bunch of old ANSI art from the "scene" as well,
haha.

The door games take me back. I loved TW and LoRD. It's funny how the
muscle memory of menus came back. I think I also played Falcon's Eye?

Good stuff!

It's a HIGHLY modified "Redmond" CSS framework. There is a link at
the bottom right of my page to the original source framework. I'll
have to cleanup some of my CSS (My CCS was terrible when I hacked it
together, it's still terrible but a tad less so)

Hope you enjoyed it. I'm slowly adding more to it as time permits. I'm
open to suggestions.
