SyncTERM default list obsolete?

The SyncTERM installer on Windows has an option to download a list of
Synchronet BBSes.

A lot of those BBSes don't seem to be active. One that caught my eye,
qemuos2, seems to not be present on Synchronet's current list, but it
was there in the past: https://web.archive.org/web/20180318113150/http

Is the installer pulling an obsolete list?

(And it does feels awkward that it's just Synchronet BBSes, but I
guess that's to be expected)

Some BBSes have a short shelf life. And others have been around for
over 25 years. And some come and go as often as most people change
their socks!

For Synchronet-only boards, you can download the most recent list from
the Synchronet BBS list page:

Look at the top for "Download a SyncTERM compatible list file here"

Also, the Telnet BBS Guide has both a monthly and daily list that you
can download that has the most recent up to date listings. Over 1000
Telnet BBSes and related Telnet accessible places.

You can replace the default SyncTerm list with either of these.

IPTIA has a SyncTerm compatible list containing over 2,300 BBSes,
MUDs, and other telnetable services:

The list is verified and only contains sites online in the last 30
days.

Where are you getting this installer program? mine doesn't have that
option.  that program is just a client. it's not responsible for being
an updated bbs list too.

you can go on these sites that have updated bbs lists.  some bbses
don't even stick around long after they post their ad.
