It's not customized the way I like it yet, just one regular ansi graphic with the bbs name but within the next couple months I'm going to be adding to it more with better ansi graphics and custom menus. I'd wait until you get it fairly setup but other good places are BBS World Discord Group, several BBS communities on Facebook, fsxNet, tqwNet and other FTNs... If you want a 'listing' , sure go register with these bbs listing sites. if you want to get some people, do some 'footwork'. we are in a big 2+ year slump and users really dwindling. **make sure you have everything done and ready. look at your bbs the way a new user would. make it easy and fun.** maybe put your logo and url on some cheap merch and leave it around internet cafes and places that give free wifi. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- potatomasherblaster · 2022-04-25 16:55 i wouldnt advertise it until it had something that people will call back for. there's 100s of stock BBSs sitting around with no action. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- denzuko · 2022-04-25 17:15 Going to set some expectations here. First build it better and have a reason for people to call in beyond, "I made an old school bbs". Doors are king, but thriving message threads builds community. Also do not expect to get a ton of users. Most of the larger BBSes out there have been around since the 80's and 90's. Their member base is dedicated because its their usual watering hole. New boards have to attract new members; a bit of a hurdle in the post .com/corpo social media world. That said; outside the normal social media marketing and SEO stuff for your main webpage about the bbs. Above all BBSing is now a community hobby kept alive by its die hard community members; so network, chat, and share. Piggy backing on what mro_0000 suggested, I've used merch sites like spreadshirt.com to make t-shirts and other items. I've sold a couple but I mostly do it for myself.
