New BBS Door Game For most modern systems reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hhhuuugggsss · 2022-02-06 15:49 Hot off the press for first full release. Has compiles for Win32, Win 64-bit, Ubuntu, and Raspberry Pi. Tournament edition has various top scores and gives your users a local word of the day. Includes bulletin generator. http://www.bbswordle.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wndrbr3d · 2022-02-06 21:26 Very cool! Great UI and additional social components with scores, etc. Kinda funny the website says to beware of "counterfeit" clones... because, you know, it's a clone as well. Unless you're also the original author of Wordle? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- codefenix · 2022-02-07 02:35 Very nice! I went ahead and set it up on my board tonight, and it runs great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaiTengu · 2022-02-07 05:33 ubuntu version won't run under CentOS 7 (I'm guessing libsqlite3 is too old or something). would be nice to have a version compiled for that. Although I could probably upgrade libsqlite3, since this is literally the only thing using it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- crankyoldtekhead · 2022-02-07 06:32 No source? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hhhuuugggsss · 2022-02-07 18:40 x64 or i386? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaiTengu · 2022-02-08 03:35 X64 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hhhuuugggsss · 2022-02-08 23:01 Okay, I tried to get it to work, assuming you got past the SQL library error, the second error I don't think I'm going to be able to get around. It's giving a malformed schema error I believe because the latest release is 3.7.17 for CENT OS, the latest version I was able to upgrade to was 3.21 which still threw the error. I'm not sure I'll be able to find a way to overcome that easily unfortunately. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hhhuuugggsss · 2022-02-08 23:03 Just being funny, there's another door being developed that I linked to there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaiTengu · 2022-02-09 00:56 Yeah, I haven't had time to mess with it, but I can probably install the latest version of sqlite, which is 3.37.2. I just have to find some time to mess with it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mewcenary · 2022-02-11 18:44 Love it. Thanks for creating this. Installed and working great under Synchronet / Ubuntu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- byteknight6 · 2022-02-12 04:29 Thanks for the awesome door game - it's up and running on Captain's Quarters II (http://cqbbs.ddns.net)! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xe3to · 2022-02-15 17:53 Awesome! This is super cool. I made a [similar thing](https://github.com/xereeto/wordleTTY), but not as a door game and there's no social component. Small bug in the game logic though, as shown [here](https://i.imgur.com/87m3Nef.png). When a letter occurs in the answer word only once, but in the guessed word twice, only the first instance of the letter should be orange (or the correct instance should be green). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hhhuuugggsss · 2022-02-16 21:19 Yeah, I know that's how wordle works, and I thought about it for a moment, but I just kept it like how mastermind works. I might update that in a later rev, I have some minor updates I've been collecting as feedback comes in. I'm starting to get an itch for some more ambitious stuff so we will see! edit: and thanks for the feedback!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xe3to · 2022-02-17 10:37 If you wanna go ambitious what about some different game modes based on the popular spinnoff versions out there? Dordle, nerdle, etc
