I've slogged my way through customizing the menus, but I have no idea to actually put files on the file base. Do I use the mass upload function? How does that work? Also, I think only one of the 3 areas I set up is actually accessible. Please help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PaulLee420 · 2021-05-04 22:11 So there’s many ways... for example, you can even use the mutil tool to mass upload using .ini files and... files.bbs format file listings. However, lemme just explain an easy way that I use all the time. Just know that later, mystic is powerful and you can search the wiki for ALL the different ways to upload. There’s several. For your first few bases, create them... 1=Games 2=soft porn text files 3=pico-8 games. (Obviously, these are my areas... yours will be different.) Then, goto area 1s directory and add all the games you want there... then do a mass upload on the bbs side; join that file area and type /u. No for all areas (although you can use that option too...) and let it upload all the games to games. Then repeat for other areas. Later, you might and an uploads directory. When I’m adding new files each week, I just send all my new ones to the uploads file directory and do a mass upload on the uploads directory. Then I move those files from there to the file areas that their gonna live in. (Mostly soft porn texts, but alas... that’s my issue.) Be careful, the reason I didn’t tell you to put ALL files in all directories the first time, and mass upload to ALL of them.... you gotta learn how mystic works and... if you upload a file twice, it’ll have a dupe in the file areas. Later, too, you’ll have to setup an .ini file for mutil that packs the file areas and puts files in alphabetical order. In your main mutil.ini there is a list of functions... read it, and info about file packing and sorting, and create a filesort.ini... then run mutil filesort.ini to pack and sort the files after you’re all done. Again, wiki.mysticbbs.com is great and will explain the features of using mutil vs. doing it manually like I described. I didn’t wanna gate Erin too deep just yet. Later, if yer trying to upload an old cd- rom from back in the day, and that cd-rom has files.bbs description files, you can use mutil to upload those files but have to setup an .ini file to do so.... :P yer gonna learn it all if you like this stuff...
