newb echomail woes

Hello -

trying to setup echo mail with a couple of friends and mystic bbs -
followed all the tutorials Paul posted i get connections see mail in
the mail base as sent, but it does not ingest mail or send it checked
all the logs all the connections are happening everything looks happy
but the messages in the directories are not moved to the message area.
using Mystic latest alpha on ubantu 20.4 hope you can offere some
guidance, also tested all scripts with mutil no errors fidopoll force
works so not sure where i screwed up..  thanks to anyone willing to
help..

If fidopoll is putting the files in the directories and they’re
staying there, your input script isn’t working properly (or running at
all).

Also, while I’m not running the current version, I think they’ve moved
away from fidopoll directly to using mis. But don’t quote me on that.

Thanks Andre - you are correct do you have a generic input script i
can use as there is not one to modify - latest version still uses
fidopoll

Sent a private message with the files.

* Fidopoll runs every thirty minutes.
* The maint.ini runs nightly.
* Import runs as a semaphere (when it sees a message file in the
directory from fidopoll).

Export runs as a semaphore, but if you create the semaphore file on
MsgPost (under Configuration->Message Base Settings),  make sure your
export script has the following...

    [ExportEchoMail]

        ; Do not export messages from users currently online
        skip_online = false

It’s a very steep learning curve. Once it’s running though, it’s
mostly solid. The author of mystic hangs out in FidoNet, and Avon
hangs out in fsxNet, so you can always get lots of help in those
areas.

thanks for this, I think I have watched all of Avon's videos lol
trying to get this to work after seeing what you sent me I have found
several areas that were missed so thanks again I will be working on
this tonight, and fingers crossed will be able to get it to work..

There is useful info buried in the old Windows videos too. You kind of
have to watch both even though they seem like they're going over the
same info.

Getting the commands and paths right in the Event settings was by far
the most confusing part for me because it's so poorly documented. Get
it working manually from the command line first, because it often
won't give you an error message even if the commands don't work.

Hey Andre -

well I have both BBS's showing messages are being sent I have "fixed"
all the errors but when I look at each system the messages are not
showing up on the other.  Interesting thing is fidopoll and mutil show
processed but the messages are not showing as being sent 0 echos but
when i read the messages they show sent..  any idea what im missing?
sorry for the delay wanted to make sure everything was right before i
replied.
