Rob Swindell and Wayne Bell on WWIV BBS Software reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nevarro · 2020-05-11 05:00 This is great. The wild west of the BBS world. Thanks Wayne and Rob! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mixedliquor · 2020-05-11 11:54 This is cut beautifully. I love the back-and-forth nature. I lost it laughing when he said why WWIV skipped WWIII. It’s so perfect that their personalities seem so completely different due to the editing of the video. I love it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- euphraties247 · 2020-05-11 15:20 Looks at loop variables called x/y/z... Uh oh. To be fair they really should have embraced Windows, with ODBC. Oh well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- n0la · 2020-05-11 16:16 wow, my first bbs was wwiv - lovely video ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tetatdo · 2020-05-11 20:09 isnt this from the bbs documentary by jason scott? Great vid! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- digitlman · 2020-05-12 01:08 Yeah, these snippets are from the original interviews of Wayne and myself by Jason for BBS: The Documentary, but these parts were not included in the final "film" edit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wndrbr3d · 2020-05-13 00:51 The editing makes Rob some off as a real asshole. Personally I feel that Wayne embodies all I remember fondly about the BBS days -- we were all figuring things out as we went because only very few people were "full time developers" in those days. While the code might have been ugly, it worked and it powered software that was used the world over. >It's more of a phase than something we should idolize forever. Amen.
