Suggestions for BBS Door Games?

Hello everyone! I was the SysOp of two previous BBSes, but they never
really went anywhere, and I did not make them appealing enough to a
wider audience. They both had too specific of a theme. So now, while
we are stuck in quarantine, I am making a new BBS. I now have the time
to really commit to it. It's going to be the best of everything that I
have seen from other BBSes. Lots of file and message areas, door
games, I already have thousands of module files I will put up, and I
want users to upload everything they would want. I am tentatively
calling it Quarantine Cove BBS, and I want to get it up in a few
weeks.

Anyway, I would like your suggestions for the best door games. Of
course, I have to include classics like the LORD games and TradeWars,
but do you guys have any other suggestions you would like to see?

Thanks in advance!

The Pit, Barren Realms Elite, Solar Realms Elite

I was on an Amiga with SkyPix but used to call in to those text only
BBS's just for those games.

Thanks! I will look into them! I saw someone on this sub recently
looking to play The Pit.

Just my 2 cents, but I would limit the scope at first and then be
ready to expand as needed. You don't want to end up with 10 users all
playing a separate game by themselves. Either that or try and funnel
them into a game of the week/month whatever by offering prizes.
..prizes like their username on a leaderboard everyone sees when they
log in, not like money or something

You know, that's a great idea! I will consider the game of the month
idea. I may not have the time to do it weekly in the future, but
monthly is certainly doable.

You might like checking out some of the Sunrise door games. In
particular I like Pentasim, Lost in Space (futuristic LORD-like RPGs),
and Rockin' Radio (for something different). There's quite a lot of
others available depending on your tastes, and best of all
registration is free.

Thanks for the ideas! I like the idea of one of the other commenters,
in that I may rotate games monthly.

You can poke around on the [http://archives.thebbs.org/index.html](ht
tp://archives.thebbs.org/index.html) for allot of different door games

I found that there were many that were released as freeware once the
end of their life cycle was up

I found one that was off the wall called DUST TO DUST THE GOD
MACHINE

I reviewed it and put it up on my youtube channel. it seemed to have
some pretty cool things going on for it but it had a pretty funny
backstory and premise to the game
