This video was really good!  I used to play this game back when I was
13.  However, it was an earlier version which didn't have the
"everyone has a manor" mechanic.  In that version, you had to either
claim an empty kingdom spot (there were only a few available depending
on the sysop) or you had to choose which kingdom to belong in.  If you
chose to be in a kingdom, you were just a resident unless you
overthrew the king.  I think you just made money by killing monsters
and investing...

Have you heard of Ambroshia: Test of Time?  It's a spiritual successor
of Exitilus made sometime in the mid 2000s, I want to say.  I have a
license from the author and should spin up a BBS to run it sometime.
