Free Radical BBS reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- billFoldDog · 2020-02-23 20:56 This BBS doesn't have a guest mode, and it wants me to supply a lot of information to make an account. Why should I join this BBS? What is it's focus? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-02-23 22:02 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-02-25 02:42 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- billFoldDog · 2020-02-25 03:13 If you don't care about that information, why ask for it? And really, you've done nothing to explain what the community is about. For all I know this is a furry porn RP server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-02-26 20:20 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- billFoldDog · 2020-02-26 20:29 I don't feel like you read my comments or questions at all. I like BBSing. The BBS's I use clearly advertise their purpose and their culture. My original feedback stands. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nevarro · 2020-02-26 21:10 This is a good point. The website should offer a little more depth before being advertised. There are literally 5 lines of text, none of which offer any information of what the BBS is about, lol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GummyKibble · 2020-03-06 05:35 Hah! I go away for a few days, come back, and here you all are stopping by to say hi. I run a Mastodon server at freeradical.zone. A lot of my users have BBS backgrounds and I thought it would be fun to spin one up for us to play on. That's it - the whole grand purpose. It's also why I didn't bother with making a new website for it. I just wanted to tell people who had already heard about it how they could log in. Before this Enigma installation, we'd also experimented with Citadel and WWIV. Those are completely gone now, leaving just this system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GummyKibble · 2020-03-08 18:31 See my other comment on this thread. I don’t know what the person you were replying to said before they deleted their comment, but they don’t run the BBS we’re discussing here. I do. The short version is these are the default settings on an Enigma BBS. I didn’t change them to ask for more information or anything - that’s just the way it works out of the box. Also, I set this up for some friends to play with, which is why I didn’t spend any time on the description. I was very surprised to find it linked on Reddit. 😀 All are welcome to stop by and visit, but I don’t expect I’ll be putting a huge amount of time or effort into running this.
