Question about retrieving raw ANSI from BBS Door Game. reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GoldenArmada · 2020-01-22 20:39 I'm currently using Syncterm for this. On a Mac, if I press Cmd-C (Ctrl-C) for Windows, I choose an empty file on my desktop to save the Raw data stream to. If I then open it in Sublime Text, I don't see the appropriate [Block Elements](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_Elements) of characters, but substituted unicode symbols like º or Û, etc. Does anyone know how to extract the ANSI characters and codes faithfully into a text file? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- denzuko · 2020-01-22 20:51 ah.. mac. So syncterm uses libsdl to render and thus its going to capture and interpetate the raw ansi. Better to use something like socat, telnet, or ckermit from [Terminal.app](https://Terminal.app) to interact with the direct data coming across the wire. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GoldenArmada · 2020-01-22 20:58 Gotcha. OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wndrbr3d · 2020-01-23 11:55 If they’re embedded in the exe you can use a disassembler to extract the ANSI as they’d all be saved as strings in the DATA segments
