C-NET like BBS for PC? reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wintrmte · 2020-01-01 15:29 One of my favorite BBS’ that I ran was a C-NET BBS on the Commodore 64. I loved the console and the customizability of the BBS.. Mostly because it was largely written in Basic. Was/is there a BBS for the PC that is similar in terms of the console display and customizability? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- legacykrew · 2020-01-01 20:11 There are a couple of BBSes out there. * Enigma 1/2 BBS Software ( [https://nuskooler.github.io/enigma- bbs/](https://nuskooler.github.io/enigma-bbs/) ) * Synchronet ( [https://www.synchro.net/](https://www.synchro.net/) ) * Mystic BBS Software ( [http://www.mysticbbs.com/](http://www.mysticbbs.com/) ) * Legacy/X (in dev) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wintrmte · 2020-01-01 20:45 Thank you. It's nice to take a trip down memory lane. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Syngali · 2020-01-02 00:05 Legacy/x alpha sites are up, give me a dm if you want the url. Don't want to be spamming anything. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fahr1 · 2020-01-02 05:02 MysticBBS is pretty functional.. you may have some good times with it. i'm a former 9.5-10.0 C-net sysop from back in the day ---------------------------------------------------------------------- charmanderincharge · 2020-01-02 09:09 Enigma is my shiznit ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UnRandomLife · 2020-01-02 17:15 K-Guide bought the oritional C-Net stuff a while ago and currently runs Future World ][ on C-Net still. I think he's planning on releasing a newer/updated version of the C64 version as well. Might be a good place to ask. telnet: fw2.cnetbbs.net:6800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wintrmte · 2020-01-02 22:38 Damn.. If only it ran in an emulator. :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2020-01-02 22:38 [removed] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UnRandomLife · 2020-01-03 19:23 I'm pretty sure now a days both the Amiga and the C64 versions are tested/developed/run in emulators. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Darin_1 · 2020-01-03 21:26 It will. New C64 Version was released a couple days ago. IIRC from sysop joinlink chat, K-Guide said he was working on full install instructions that included the emulator and all. Log into FW2 BBS. Announcement and more is there. telnet: fw2.cnetbbs.net:6800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wintrmte · 2020-01-03 22:26 Oh my.. I've connected and sent a message. I'm giddy with excitement, almost like when I got a 2400 Baud modem for Christmas one year. :)
