How do I download files from a BBS using SyncTERM? reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- samot__zerep · 2019-08-26 23:43 I'm new to the scene, and this has probably been asked a few times before. I've tried to download files from a BBS but I can't find them on my computer, what is the default download path on SyncTERM? I'm using SyncTERM 1.0, if that helps. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- angelus78gak · 2019-08-26 23:53 Did you check your documents folder? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- samot__zerep · 2019-08-27 00:23 Yes, and the files are nowhere to be found. Weird because syncTERM asks me if i want to overwrite the files, but i can't find them anywhere, not even by searching for their name on the windows' search bar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DaiTengu · 2019-08-27 00:24 I was typing out a reply, but about halfway through I decided it would be easier to just record a video. There's also a setting for that in the SyncTerm defaults (though the one in the BBS entry will override the default). You should check there for the location of the file. You can open BBS entry settings with the F2 key. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- samot__zerep · 2019-09-01 02:52 this turned out very useful, thanks! i can finally download files now. also, great BBS! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SirAirWalker · 2019-11-01 03:42 I always see people recommend SyncTERM to newcomers. As a person who's been in the BBS world for a few decades I feel like NetRunner is actually easier than SyncTERM. Alt+D, Alt+Z and Alt+Enter is all you need to know imo. Back in my Hay day I used Qmodem for DOS and they're eerily similar. Maybe I'm crazy. I figured out Alt + commands when I was 12 and 13 years old, so why can't adults do it now?!
