Help installing iNiQUiTTY on FreeDOS? reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mcandre · 2019-08-18 17:38 Hi, I am trying to setup a DOS machine to run as a server for building DOS applications. In theory, build commands would be sent over telnet, and the resulting application binaries retrieved by rsync, FTP, etc. The DOS instance would be running in a virtual machine such as VirtualBox, with a virtual Ethernet connection to the host machine. Now, I have found some telnet servers available for DOS, such as rmenu. And I can run some build commands like `wget`... directly on my DOS machine. But when I try to run the same command over the rmenu telnet session, then somehow the commands fail. It's like rmenu won't let other networked applications successfully bind to their ports. That's problem #1 that I'm trying to solve. Maybe FreeDOS, or FDNET, or mTCP, are unable to bind ports to multiple applications concurrently. But assuming that such a workflow is possible to accomplish, I am researching how to setup other telnet servers, thinking BBS's like iNiQUiTTY would be a good place to start. Problem #2 is that `iniquity.exe` v26r5 bombs out with this error: Runtime error 200 at 1E22:0091. For what it's worth, Terminate displays a similar launch error: Runtime error 200 at 08FB:0BD7. No idea which port identifier to supply to my `C:\FDCONFIG.SYS` device configuration for BNU to bind to TCP port 23 rather than a COM serial port. Could someone provide some guidance, hopefully a step-by-step tutorial for setting up a BBS as a telnet command server using VirtualBox Ethernet NICs? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- s4turn1ne · 2019-08-18 18:15 For the runtime errors, try this: http://www.ipnet6.org/tppatch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NuSkooler · 2019-08-18 23:00 I don't have any real advice, but let us know when you get it going!
