Boards with active Global Wars games reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JKNGale · 2019-03-27 14:52 Hey. I'm looking for boards that have active Global War games going. Also, I'd like to play TW2002 and OOII. Does anyone have any recommendations? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- strayce · 2019-03-27 20:00 I'm bringing up a new board with TW2002 and ooii, I'll try to track down Global Wars if you like. The hard part is going to be getting a decent userbase going on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2019-03-27 20:43 [removed] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2019-03-27 20:43 [removed] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JKNGale · 2019-03-28 02:22 I've been logging onto [mutinybbs.com:2332](https://mutinybbs.com:2332) which is not particularly active, but at least there are a few active games of GW to play. They also have a contest where you can win $25 as a credit to the Sysop's online store of vintage game stuff every month. People should check it out. Log in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hemingray · 2019-03-28 14:39 How about a nice game of Chess instead? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JKNGale · 2019-03-28 18:05 I mean... yes I like chess. But is that what the expansiveness of the internet has to offer? You ask for Risk and you get chess? Or is this just in my own interest - chess is a better game, and you're looking out for my better interests? Thanks though. Through what bbs do you play chess? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hemingray · 2019-03-28 18:24 It was a reference to Wargames. Where David dials into WOPR and sees a game called Global Thermonuclear War. He selects this, and WOPR asks if he'd rather play a nice game of chess instead. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- strayce · 2019-03-29 12:09 It's up now, in a nominal kind of way. I have some door games (I got hold of the unregistered version of Global War) and QWKMail working. There's no cool ANSII art or flavour yet. Telnet to bbs.stray.systems if you like, but there's not much there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JKNGale · 2019-04-03 23:15 Hey - I found one, after days of searching.
