Any MajorBBS modders out there interested in building something rlogin

Hey guys,

I'd really like to run my bbs through mystic. I'd also like to be able
to use some doors on MajorBBS. Simplest way I can figure to do that,
seamless and transparent to the user, is with some sort of rlogin
gateway or something like that.

Problem is, based on [this thread that I found](https://groups.google.
com/forum/#!topic/alt.bbs.synchronet/wcpmyAUin2Y), that doesn't appear
to be an option. So basically I think this would need to be custom
written.

As a bonus/stretch goal, one thing that would be *really* cool would
be to not only seamlessly/transparently handle the user authentication
piece, but also auto-launch the door selected in mystic, without any
menu interference whatsoever, and then upon completion drop the user
back to mystic (in other words, majorbbs drops carrier).

Anyone smart on majorbbs think this is possible? I'd love to use one
of those gaming-centric majorbbs distribution builds found
[here](http://major.butt.care/index.php/Main_Page).

Also, if anyone thinks this is doable on TBBS, please chime in. :)

I didn't do anything with major bbs till now. Isn't it possible to
extract the doors from major bbs and put it into mystic? Or does major
use its own programming language / door format?

It does its own thing, sadly. You can’t run major bbs doors on any
other software :( but it has excellent muds

Well.. Mystic does have a telnet command that can call other BBS's. If
you're interested I might have a few suggestions as of how to make
your idea possible. PM me :)

I have thought of similar. Like making a proxy with nectat or the
likes.

That's mostly just for keeping the thread clean, as I wanted to ask a
couple of specific questions regarding the setup in question. I'll
post the final solution here :)
I'm currently looking into coding a small script in MPL
(MysticProgrammingLanguage) for you. It should be possible, I think.

Following up a bit here, can anyone get any of the packages from
[here](http://major.butt.care/index.php/Main_Page) to work in dosemu?
I'd rather not use dosbox if possible, and definitely don't want to
use a VM. I plan to host this on a headless cloud server so would very
much like to get majorbbs running headless :)

The reverse is possible without any mods, but what you ask for I
believe would require a custom module for WG/MBBS which does not
exist.

The following page is the reference I used when I setup an autologin
from my WG system to a Mystic sytem (using rlogin).

Now it could be possible without mods but I have not figured out how.

*P.S. Also if you are looking for us remaining MBBS/WG guys we are on
