Mystic BBS support - Page Sysop function not working

I'm currently working on a new BBS, and so far most of it works
alright, but the "page/message sysop" functions don't seem to work at
all. Anyone knows how to fix this, or what might be the problem?


I'm using the latest version of Mystic (v1.12 A39 for Linux).

Hi! I actually read your tutorial before writing this :D

I have a similar setup but with a beep script instead of a mp3 file,
and that kind of works.
My initial problem was that it would freeze if a user disconnected
whilst it was still playing. I solved this by de-attaching the process
from its host shell.

My current problem is trickier; if multiple users use the function at
once, each beep starts overlaying the other, resulting in multiple
beep scripts running at once.

To combat this I initially tried to use variables but they weren't
system-wide since I was de-attaching the scripts from the shell, so
then I tried to use mystic's semaphore system but i couldn't get it to
work properly as it's not documented how to use it.

There is a Facebook group for Mystic SysOps. I’m willing to bet one of
them would be able to tell you how to use the semaphore system. I kind
of hacked my way with what I showed you here in my blog post.

You could also hit up the mystic support echo on fsxNet.
