Synchronet 3.17, binkit.js and importing reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snoozerd · 2018-02-12 04:54 I am trying to get all this going. I had it running smoothly on Mystic, but I enjoy SBBS better. Anyone have these setup? Could you help me if you do? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RealDeuce · 2018-02-12 15:31 I have it set up. Have you checked on [the wiki](http://wiki.synchro.net/util:binkit)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snoozerd · 2018-02-12 20:42 Yes, I just went line by line thru the wiki again. Suggestion: Maybe it could show you what it is doing in the Network Window (yes a new window). This is what I get when I run binkit.js from the command line: --- jsexec binkit.js -p JSexec v3.17a-Win32 (rev 1.193) - Execute Synchronet JavaScript Module Compiled Feb 9 2018 05:03:15 with MSC 1800 Loading configuration files from c:\SBBS\ctrl JavaScript-C 1.8.5 2011-03-31 JavaScript: Creating runtime: 8388608 bytes JavaScript: Initializing context (stack: 16384 bytes) Reading script from C:\sbbs\exec\binkit.js C:\sbbs\exec\binkit.js compiled in 0.01 seconds Running outbound Locking = c:\sbbs\ftn\out\00010064.bsy Lock on = c:\sbbs\ftn\out\00010064.bsy failed. If those files exist, try deleting them. If not, make sure that the user the BBS is running as can create files in those directories. Also, make sure that the directories even exist. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snoozerd · 2018-02-13 19:06 You mean binkit.js will create the directories on its own? Interesting. I will be all over this when I get home. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RealDeuce · 2018-02-13 19:14 BinkIT doesn't create any messages, why would it create outbound directories? If you want a link to be polled via -p, you need to have the Poll=yes in the ini file for that link. Generally, you run binkit as a service and your upstream just connects when there's traffic rather than holding for you to poll them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snoozerd · 2018-02-14 01:29 The things I learn! I did not know that they were to poll me...I have always polled them...sheez.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RealDeuce · 2018-02-14 01:34 Well, they don't need to poll... just whoever has messages for someone else sends them. So if you have outbound messages, BinkIT will send them... if they have outbound for you, they send them. That said, some links *do* require you to poll them... which is what the Poll=yes option is for.
