The BBS Documentary reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vykyan · 2016-08-25 11:03 I've been trying to get a proper copy of this for the last few years but Jason has said its sold out/out of print. So I think you all would appreciate it (if you haven't already seen it). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 9600bps · 2016-08-25 12:00 Essential for any BBSer! The Documentary is also available at the Internet Archive along with extended versions of many of the interviews. If you're bookmarking for later, I consider the Archive version much more reliable than YouTube. https://archive.org/details/BBS.The.Documentary ---------------------------------------------------------------------- starseed42 · 2016-08-25 14:36 This is one of my favorite docs of all time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- travisjd2012 · 2016-08-25 23:52 Love this series. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Officer_Coldhonkey · 2016-08-26 00:18 Oh man... one of the dudes they interview (Zealot) in the HPAC episode was the SysOp of a board I tried and tried and tried to get on back in the day. It was called Too Fucking Hostile. One of the hardest boards to get into as they had some legitimate people that frequented it. Tons of 0 day apps and games.. new user password that changed all the time, extensive new user questionnaires and voting.. I remember calling often to check on the voting status of my application. Couldn't tell me shit when I finally got in. Was promptly removed for leeching if I remember correctly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ShooterJennings · 2016-08-26 01:38 I love the drummer/warez dude. I wanna jam w him. He on here, reddit? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mro_1337 · 2016-08-26 22:43 the youtube copy (if it's the real good copy) is one i uploaded with Jason Sadofsky's blessing. (it was on google video which was migrated to youtube). sadly people copied it so they could get paid for its views. you can get a true digital copy without the extras online via torrents or archive.org as 9600bps said. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ShooterJennings · 2016-08-27 20:50 I wish someone would make a doc about the 2600 meetings of the 80's and 90's, i know i went to a few myself. There was always some kid with a video camera there, it would be so rad to see all these super nerds (like my younger-self) in a Tilt arcade in the mall hanging out and talking about beige boxing.
