Looking for a good recently banged TW:2002 game that is active. reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-04-26 22:05 Preferably with at least 10k sectors and at least a couple thousand turns per day. So tired of finding games that are old and full of mined sectors. Any BBS's come to mind? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chairmanmow · 2014-04-26 23:31 i have a game on my board, but it's not 10K sectors. I just joined bbslink.net which allows me to link into some registered doors seamlessly from my board while playing across different boards as well, it just started this last week. I encouraged the guy running it to add Tradewars 2002 because that is my favorite door as well. Anyhow, if that gets started, I'll let ya know, because I think that could be a good game. If you want to play on my board, I'll just say it's futureland.grudgemirror.com I've got a corporation with 4 pretty productive planets. I pretty much just battle the Ferrengi by myself at this point. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2014-04-26 23:56 Thank you. The game at futureland seems to have been finished. The ports have all been used up by all the alien traders so it's impossible for new players to get anywhere. Cool BBS though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chairmanmow · 2014-04-27 07:23 Yah, I'm sure it's a hard one to get into for new players. I'm hoping sometime soon this other game starts up (it's a little bit out of my control). Otherwise I could always start another game on my server as well. I, at the very least, would probably play. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chairmanmow · 2014-04-27 23:13 well, i've got some good news and some bad news. the bad news is i somehow got rid of the game i was playing before, the good news is i can start a new game on my copy now. if you're interested in getting in, i'll let u know when i restart it. i'll try to do 10K sectors and however many turns. lemme know what u think is best. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- derfherdez · 2014-04-28 01:55 I kind of wish I bought the gold version when I bought the regular version... I doubt they even sell it anymore as John was very hesitant to sell a regular license. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sharphead_cgy · 2014-04-30 01:54 The Nexus BBS - telnet: nexus.bbs94.com:23 or WWW: http://thenexusbbs.com If your bringing in a group of players, we can set you up with game op accounts. True TW2002 BBS server, not TWGS universe. Sysop: Sharphead - let me know what you think! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- chairmanmow · 2014-05-04 22:07 OK, so I'm hoping this will be the last time I reply, but I seem to get a couple upvotes every time I do, so I gotta think someone kinda cares. Anyhow, I hooked up with another board and their games, so you can play through my board now. Most of the games seem pretty fresh and open untainted, there's like 5 games to choose from, yada yada yada. I'm connecting to vallhalla though, so I take no credit, but they look to have some good games that could use players without being taken over by aliens already. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nolageek · 2014-05-06 01:38 Just banged the game at capitolshrill.com yesterday. 5000 sectors though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nolageek · 2014-06-03 20:50 Newly registered TW2002 just re-banged today. 12000 sectors, 2000 turns/day. capitolshrill.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kalitarios · 2014-07-17 05:24 I used to love playing this game, and a few years ago found people playing in a tournament style. Didn't care for the auto-scripting, takes the fun away from it all... but enjoyed it none-the-less... This was the first door game I got into heavily, with a stack of graphing paper and would plot it all out by hand. VERY tempted to get back into it again... I'd like to think that many of the popular games today based on Trading resources and corporations took their queues from this classic.
