Hey -- thanks for posting this! I'm the producer who made it. There
was a lot of stuff I wanted to include that I ended up not being able
to simply because of time. Specifically, all three of the guys I
interviewed about being M-netters went on into careers in IT/Infosec.
There were also just so many anecdotes about the weird crap we used to
do to one another on there. Scripts to send "tel bombs," essentially
abusing a private message function to flood people's screens with
crap.

After this went down our podcast stream, I got a lot of nice responses
from people who used to hang out there. I even got an email from a
woman who met her husband on M-net.

Anyhow, thanks again for posting this. It's part of a new side project
we're doing about the internet called "TLDR". [You can listen to other
episodes here](http://www.onthemedia.org/tags/tldr_show/).

Great to hear from you, Alex! I'm a former BBSer, too, and I wish more
folks had preserved their bits of BBS history. So much has been lost.
Kudos for getting this story out there.

I run a [blog](http://breakintochat.com/blog/) and a
[wiki](http://breakintochat.com/wiki/) that focus on forgotten BBS
door games. For example, did you know one of the Googlers credited
with coining "Don't be evil" [was the author of Solar Realms
Elite](http://breakintochat.com/blog/2013/02/18/amit-patel-creator-of-
solar-realms-elite/)?
