Commodore BBS Outpost: List of Telnettable BBSes running on Commodore hardware + emulators reddit / bbs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] ยท 2012-01-04 04:49 Commodore had their own character set generally referred to as PETSCII. While you can probably connect to any of these using a normal telnet client emulating ASCII, for the full experience, there seem to be three options: [CGTerm](http://www.paradroid.net/cgterm/). This is free and possibly the quickest way but it hasn't been updated in awhile and doesn't handle my screen resolution well at full screen. [SyncTerm](http://syncterm.bbsdev.net/), which you can download here and can do ANSI, PETSCII, but also Atari's ATASCII. SyncTerm is the best all-around client for BBSing because it is full of features interesting mainly to BBSers (as oppose to bog-standard telnet clients). Alternately you can run WinVICE and get things working with telnet using [this procedure](http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39 987&highlight=telnet). In this case, you can run an old-school Commodore terminal program of your choice (CCGMS seems most popular). This is probably the most rewarding way of doing it, next to actually hooking up Commodore hardware.
