Hi r/bbs, i just started a BBS using Mystic. The darkstar bbs is
accessible via telnet at darkstarbbs.dyndns.org:23, supports ANSI and
ASCII graphics. It doesn't have any games yet except for Pimp Wars;
I'm looking into installing LORD, Food Fight and TradeWars later this
weekend. Currently I'm using it personally so I'll have a place to
upload/download my files. Please visit sometime; first few users I'll
make into sysops. thanks!

Thanks for sharing. Might I suggest Usurper, BRE and a few trivia
(King of the Hill) and card games (Card Guppies)?

it's in an XP vm on my home machine; i'm looking into moving it into
its own box - i'll buy a mini itx file server for storing my personal
files, better than dropbox :)). since it's going to be running on its
own machine, i might as well run a bbs on it. the connection is kind
of slow as its a shared connection. For the doors to work, i use
NetFoss

I went the same route for my WorldGroup BBS. WinXP VM. It's very
unfortunate that this subreddit is not very active :(

yeah, i hope people pick up BBSing again, what with SOPA and
censorship being rampant. at its core web forums and bbses are the
same; but BBSes are more fun because it is so low-level

I had to take it down as I'm moving to NED. :(

I bought an Arduino, though, and am looking at creating a simple
telnet messageboard with the ethernet shield. :) will message here as
soon as i get it up
