Mori,Dazai,and the old boss

I think the whole thing with the old boss is super fun and I’ve been
wondering more about it lately. Dazai was 14 and Mori was 32 when they
murdered the old boss together considering that the entire event took
place 8 years ago and after that Mori took over as boss. The gap of
time in between Mori picking up a suicidal Dazai and managing to gain
enough trust and status within the mafia to be able to just take over
the boss position is intriguing. He likely either already had ties to
the mafia or joined the mafia soon after getting Dazai and just
manipulated the senile old man into getting a greater position of
power. I mean we saw in chapter 16 that Mori already had plans of
joining the mafia when Yosano was like 14 and the Agency was just
getting its roots so he possibly did already have mafia connections or
something. I wonder what Dazai’s relationship with the old boss was
too since when Rimbaud uses his ability to ‘revive’ him the old boss
says something like “Dazai you’re looking well,Mori hasn’t been
picking on you has he?” which just makes me wanna know more about that
little dynamic so bad. I would assume that Dazai was just a little
tyke Mori just brought along to the ob’s health check ups or something
and Mori and Dazai watched as he further deteriorated.
