It links to [that script to install a
desktop](https://euroquis.nl/freebsd/2019/08/12/instant-
workstation.html). The current version ignores the exit status of some
commands; `pkg install ... ; sysrc ...` might be better as `pkg
install ... && sysrc ...`

My desktop runs OpenBSD, but if I want to switch BSDs, then FreeBSD
with this script would be one of my options. TrueOS and Project
Trident might be other options.

Maybe it’s because it’s small, but would you recommend NomadBSD as a
viable alternative?

neat! i used to have something like this for OpenBSD, then I switched
it over to an ansible playbook. i ansible all the things these days.
