Advanced OSX books reddit / BSD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MaxPayneNoir · 2018-05-25 09:56 Not books, but what about: - [official Darwin documentation](https://developer.apple.com/library/ content/documentation/Porting/Conceptual/PortingUnix/background/backgr ound.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40002848-TPXREF114) - [XNU on github](https://github.com/opensource- apple/xnu/blob/master/README.md) - [PureDarwin Wiki](https://github.com/PureDarwin/PureDarwin/wiki) macOS is very different now from 4.4BSD and despite it borrows NetBSD userland, studying macOS by studying any BSD the way it is now can lead to wasting too much time compared to the useful knowledge you may get in regard of macOS. Moreover a part of its the userland is macOS only, starting from launchd and Apple documentation/man pages is the only good source to look up in these cases. Still,if you speak about system management/administration only, then yes, the awesome *BSD documentation can help you learn some useful commands ---------------------------------------------------------------------- VikingLumberjack0 · 2018-05-25 10:30 Thank you, I'll check those links out!
