apps.  I just didn't have the need to.  If you want to see a
screenshot of what the app screen (after two swipe ups, the first to
"unlock" and the second to see the apps), i can arrange to transfer it
to my pc and post it.  (I can't directly from the device, as I haven't
ever turned connected to a wifi endpoint and don't plan to, though it
is still physically possible since I don't know how to disable it
completely.  Oh the good old days with a physical wifi radio
switch...)
