IDE notebook tabs suddenly changed lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2020-03-30 19:19 Using Lazarus IDE on Windows, all of a sudden, the notebook tabs of the different files opened in the editor have changed appearance -- before they were regular tabs, now they are plain text with a different background color. See the attached image: above is an example of regular tabs, and below is how the tabs now look in my IDE. I looked everywhere but I cannot find any options or setting for changing the appearance back to regular tabs. Can anyone kindly suggest how to change the appearance back to regular tabs? Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GAN · 2020-03-30 21:41 It happens to me sometimes, right click on any tab and select options, then restore to default values. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2020-03-30 22:50 Quote from: GAN on March 30, 2020, 11:41:57 pmright click on any tab and select options There's no such "options" menu item. If I right click I can only "close tab", or "move to" or "clone to". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GAN · 2020-03-30 23:01 I'm sorry, I thought you meant the tabs of the Lazarus IDE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eljo · 2020-03-30 23:05 Quote from: GAN on March 31, 2020, 01:01:34 amI'm sorry, I thought you meant the tabs of the Lazarus IDE. I do not see an options menu when I right click on an editor tab on my lazarus installation either. Is it possible that a recently installed addin might be responsible for both behaviors you two describe? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2020-03-30 23:16 Quote from: eljo on March 31, 2020, 01:05:09 amIs it possible that a recently installed addin might be responsible for both behaviors you two describe? Not in my case. The tabs appearance changed suddenly, while I was typing something in the editor, I must have accidentally pressed Ctrl- something-something and the regular styled tabs disappeared and were replaced by plain text, like some "flat" buttons. Right-clicking on the tabs themselves opens a small popup menu without anything useful for this purpose. Right-clicking on the editor and then "Options" is the same as Tools > Options > Editor, but that also doesn't contain any setting that I could find that changes the appearance back to regular tabs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2020-03-30 23:42 Do you have any packages installed? I noted, that the vertical order of (pseudo) tabs, and toolbar changed. The Tabs are now above the editor toolbar. Try to start your IDE with an empty config (-pcp or --pcp) lazarus.exe -pcp=d:\empty_folder You can later switch back to your current config, by starting without that option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2020-03-30 23:45 Looks like this: https://wiki.freepascal.org/Package_Tabs ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Manlio · 2020-03-31 01:02 Quote from: Martin_fr on March 31, 2020, 01:45:24 amLooks like this: https://wiki.freepascal.org/Package_Tabs SOLVED, thanks! I uninstalled the Package_Tabs and that solved the problem. Thanks again!
