AutoSave plugin does not save project file....

In order to safeguard my work on a Lazarus installation on Raspberry
Pi4, where the IDE crashed several times a day I decided to try out
the AutoSave IDE plug-in available in OnLine Package Manager.
It has worked very well for my pas source files and the crashes of the
IDE have stopped as a side effect too.

But I discovered that the saving does not affect the project file (lpr
file) in which I do some coding on command line programs.

Is there any way to activate saving also of the project file?
The options only include a checkbox to enable the function and a
numeric input to set the time interval....
