IDE does not look propperly in High DPI screen on Windows 10 lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hangolu · 2016-07-10 17:02 Hello, I use Windows 10 on a MacBook pro Retina. (in a Parallels VM) Lazarus IDE does not look properly on my High DPI windows. I ve attached the screenshot. Any options to fix this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MSC · 2016-07-10 17:25 Hey, I cannot find anythng wrong. What are you really looking for? Maybe if you want all windows docked, you have to install "anchordockingdsgn" from Lazarus component palette (anchordocking --> design --> anchordockingdsgn). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2016-07-10 17:55 The line height of the object inspector does not seem to match the font size. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MSC · 2016-07-10 18:59 Hey, oh I see. You could try Tools --> Environments --> Object inspector. There you find setting "Height of entry" which is set to 22 on my notebook (Full HD resolution). Increasing this value will also increase the height of object inspector cells. I ´m using a german version of Lazarus, so I do not exactly know, if my translation for the item settings is correct. Good luck MSC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2016-07-10 20:32 BTW it must be scaled properly depending on the font size by default. At least that option must be changed automatically if DPI changes. ScaleY(ThatProperty.Value, 96) // 96 is the default DPI lazarus and most applications are designed for. Also the icons are really small for an HD display. At least the size of the icon area, not the bitmap itself, should be scaled with the DPI of the screen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hangolu · 2016-07-10 22:37 You dont see anything wrong becouse your screen resolution is 1:1 i guess. My retina screen resolution is 1:2 Here is a new screenshot. I ve scaled screenshot image to 1280x800. So you can see what i see. There is Delphi behind, and lazarus over the delphi. First look at the toolbar area. You will see lazarus icons are smaller than delphi icons and it is really hard to see and click on my screen. Than look at the form designer. Components is not scaled right. The components on the options window is right scaled, but default width of options window is not right. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knuckles · 2016-11-02 19:36 There are some issues with dpi, I remember when I had scaling on the > icon for sub menus looked wrong too (eg popup menu in the editor). I no longer use Windows scaling but I wonder if this might be any help: Right click the Lazarus exe, goto compatibility tab and check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and then run Lazarus again and see if it makes any difference. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lainz · 2016-11-02 20:35 Quote from: knuckles on November 02, 2016, 08:36:53 pmI no longer use Windows scaling but I wonder if this might be any help: Right click the Lazarus exe, goto compatibility tab and check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and then run Lazarus again and see if it makes any difference. That does the opposite, it makes the form 'not blured' for programs that does not contain manifest. That all need is that lazarus is properly designed for high dpi.
