Caret artifacts lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fungus · 2016-04-25 19:37 Dunno if this is a known issue, but when using Lazarus on Linux Mint KDE I get artifacts / cursor remains when I press and hold the "arrow left" key down, looks like the attached image. Any workarounds, how to fix? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2016-04-25 19:41 No it is not a known issue, or well it wasn't yet. What version of Lazarus do you use? If you drop a SynEdit on a form, and run it, can you reproduce it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fungus · 2016-04-25 19:50 The issue reproduces when I drop a SynEdit on a form in a new project. I'm using newest Linux Mint KDE (17.3), Lazarus was installed from repository (V1.0.10) and was rebuild with Indy Project 10.2.0.3 using FPC V2.6.2-8. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2016-04-25 20:02 Lazarus 1.0.10 is rather old. Unfortunately the repositories of some distributions are not always updated when there are newer Lazarus available. And as those repositories are maintained by the linux teams, we can do nothing about this. We do offer downloads ourself. See links on the left side of the forum Current Lazarus is 1.6. I remember that some caret invalidation issues where fixed between 1.4 and 1.6. I dont know if it will affect your case. And in 1.6, there may be a difference between the caret in the IDE and a SynEdit on a form. (Thats why both needs to be tested) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fungus · 2016-04-26 12:59 Thanks! I updated to Laz 1.6 / FPC3.0 - problem solved, all nice! :-)
