Sometimes when having the source window active the component palet does not show all buttons. Just a guess. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- fortenet · 2015-02-26 11:54 Quote from: JanRoza on February 26, 2015, 12:46:07 pmAre you sure the buttons remain invisible if you have the form active? Great hint JanRoza...I closed the form and then from the code I pressed F12 and when appear the form the ide buttons appear too; Very Very Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rvk · 2015-02-26 13:31 Quote from: JanRoza on February 26, 2015, 12:46:07 pmSometimes when having the source window active the component palet does not show all buttons. Is this normal behavior? For me all components stay visible in the component palette when my source-editor is visible and has focus. (This seems like a bug to me, although a temporary one) (This is normal behavior for Delphi where the Tool Palette with components is only shown when your form is visible but I've never seen this in Lazarus) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- flamer0n · 2015-02-26 13:43 As far as I know this happens when you're working with other stuff, I mean other than GUI Application; it could be console, daemon, cgi project etc What I suspect happened in your case is that the very last project you worked on(or experimented) when you closed your Lazarus IDE normally, was not a gui application, then you created a new project (this time supposedly gui app) and then for some reason Lazarus IDE crashed while you worked , and supposing in your lazarus settings you have [open last project on start] it opened the previous successfully closed project ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rvk · 2015-02-26 13:55 Quote from: flamer0n on February 26, 2015, 02:43:53 pmAs far as I know this happens when you're working with other stuff, I mean other than GUI Application; it could be console, daemon, cgi project etcThat would be a plausible explanation if he didn't see any components but the first 2 components and last (TMainMenu, TPopupMenu and TActionList) are visible. I tried to recreate his problem but even for a simple console app or library all my components are still visible on the Component Palette. So the only thing I can think of is that there was some left-over caching-problem of the Component Palette after his crash which resolved itself by reloading the form. Seeing as nobody reported similar problems it's probably not a bug in Lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2015-02-26 15:15 This is about DataModule filtering. Only non-visual components can be placed on a DataModule. All icons are shown when a normal form is selected. They may not be shown yet when a different source editor is selected. This test happened with 1.2.6 if I understand right. 1.4 will have a revamped configurable component palette. Please test with 1.4RC1 and RC2 (soon) as much as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rvk · 2015-02-26 15:34 Quote from: JuhaManninen on February 26, 2015, 04:15:36 pmThis is about DataModule filtering. Only non-visual components can be placed on a DataModule.YES. That's it. When having a Datamodule visible (source-editor or form-view doesn't matter) only the non-visual components are visible. Really weird that with a Console-app or Library-file I still do see them while I can't place them on anything Lazarus should be able to hide them for those as well (Lazarus 1.5 r47591 FPC 3.1.1 i386-win32-win32/win64). But at least this explains the screenshot OP (fortenet) placed after his crash.
