Project.po file duplication of resource strings lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Windsurfer ยท 2014-02-17 10:48 I am using Laz 1.2RC2, Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon on an intel i7 laptop. I have converted all of the strings etc in my project to resource strings using Source|Refactoring|Make Resource string. This works very well. It replaces the string and declares the new resource string in the Resourcestring section of the interface. This happens whether there is a resourcestring section is in each unit or there is a single resourcestring unit that is referred to by all units. However, when the code is compiled both the resource string declaration and the resource string in the code are placed in the project.po file as separate entries. This seems to be an unnecessary duplication, because (if I understand correctly) the declared resource string is a place holder in memory that the (say) project.de.po file translations will be read into. The references will than be taken from there. Is it really necessary to have the duplication in the po file? Would it be better to just copy the declarations into the project.po file, and save the double translation.
