Lazarus IDE & Docking lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hinst · 2013-05-02 14:55 I installed latest Lazarus IDE "stable" release 1.0.8 on Windows. It worked fine. Then I recompiled it with dock manager package so that I would be able to dock my windows in the IDE. It worked fine. But after I closed the IDE and opened it again, the main window of the IDE didn't show up. In fact none of IDE windows showed up, although Lazarus process was present, perhaps it was stuck at some initialization code. This is not the first time I encounter this problem, I remember there were cases when Lazarus main window did not show up after I started the IDE. I am not sure whether this problem is actually related to dock manager or not, but it is really annoying. Is it really so hard to make it always possible to open Lazarus or something... I experienced this problem YEARS ago. And now Lazarus reached version 1.0.8, and the problem is still present. I don't know what else to say here... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2013-06-05 18:43 After you set the docking up the way you like you have to save the desktop config or the next time you run it will be messed up/reverted to the default. I use the anchor docking design package with 1.08 and it works fine after I save the using "Tools"->"Save Window layout as default" If you are not using the Anchor Docking design package consider switching to that.  I am assuming you are using the Anchor package and not the other one that ships with the IDE.
