select multiple lines? lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-11-26 21:24 is there a way to select multiple lines of code to cut/copy but with gaps? like select 2 lines, leave 5 unselected and select next 3. would be handy sometimes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2012-11-26 21:36 Probably no. I can only say that Linux (Gnome or KDE4) has tools for clipboard with history (like Klipper). I configured shortcuts, so CTRL+ALT+Up/Down moves thru history. It helps so much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-11-26 21:40 Unfortunately not. Also how would that paste afterwards? Code: [Select]  foo1; // copy me   foo2; // copy me   foo3; // do NOT copy me   foo4; // copy me   foo5; // do NOT copy me So you had a gap of 1. Then you paste. - Will it paste that as 1 continuous block? - Or Will it mix it: Paste the 2 top lines, then take an existing line from the code where you paste, and then paste the 3rd? The first could be done is like this: you could still not select none- contineus. But you could add the selection to the end of the clipboard. (In fact that may be useful. I should put that on my todo) In fact you may be able to do those using editor macros (in Lazarus 1.1 you can manage multiple macros) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-11-26 22:00 In my case I'd like it to cut and then paste removing blank lines.  maybe I'll just write a tool for it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kazmirus · 2012-11-26 22:08 Not, it's mixed. Just part from one unit and part from other unit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-11-26 22:53 This may help (Lazarus 1.1 only): http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Editor_Macros_PascalScript It is still ALPHA. - I tested it on Win 32 bit, and that is fairly stable. - It does NOT AT ALL work on any 64 bit windows yet. - I know there are issues on Mac. But I do not know how many. - It may work on linux 32/64) completely untested. There is a testcase, it is not complete, but covers a fair amount. run that FIRST. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-11-27 10:04 newest lazarus gives me a linker error when trying to rebuild so I can't really install packages ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-11-27 14:17 What error message? What OS? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- laggyluk · 2012-12-05 10:54 I've found a solution on the forums, make.exe version was obsolete
