You mean:
"When you compile (F9), then the IDE saves all files"?

This is always so. There is no option to change this.

It is a known issue. But I do not know if (or when) anything will be
done.

as long as the compiler is external there is not much that can be done
if it is not saved before compiling then fpc will not compile the new
source. As far as I can understand it fpc must be converted to a
dll/so and linked in the ide it self to do that and I dont think this
will be addressed any time soon.
