[SOLVED] Distinction on which Unit tab is selected or not lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Elmug · 2011-08-24 18:34 Good people, I am in Windows Xp, and in another thread I was correctly informed that the aspect of the unit Tabs (Unit1...etc), are an O.S. issue. Well, I tried to fix that but still am having difficulty in seeing which Tab is pressed down. My tabs are light gray (or silver) with basically a solid vertical line dividing them. If I really look, I can see a slight shadow, but not in normal use. Some good person even mentioned that that system had a red line. Sometimes an asterik (*) shows up in one of them, and then YES, that's easy to spot. But that's indicating something else, I believe. So, does anyone have any tip on what as Windows XP I can change to improve that? I've tried the usual Display/Appearance etc. and that system has always been kind of confusing to me, despite the efforts. Specially the terminology they use. Thanks for any tips, suggestions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2011-08-24 21:03 The * is a modified file (not yet saved) I am pretty sure last time, I used XP, tabs were grey, if not selected, and white for the one selected tab.... Your descriptions sounds like an issue with your monitors settings for brightness and contrast? (Well just one possible guess) the red line => that's GTK only How do tabs of windows build in stuff look? e.g many of the things in "control panel" have tabs => here if I open Sound or Mouse setting for windows, I do see tabs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Elmug · 2011-08-24 21:57 Well, goog people, One VERY INTERESTING discovery I just made: I usually only click ONCE on a such tab, and yes, the Editor opens that file, and so on. I've done this a zillion times by now. But, if I click TWICE on the tab, in a row, THEN I get a much better embossed looking selected tab! However, as soon as I click into the text, the Tab becomes just about the same as the others (very slight difference). Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Elmug · 2011-09-15 02:57 I have resolved this issue. The situation manifests when THEMES (a widows process) is turned off. I had it off for a while for speed purposes in real-time music making/and instrument playing applications. Now I do see a thin colored line. However, I would prefer if a character were placed at the Tab, similar to when an asteric shows, or make the identifier of the current Tab be in bold letters...Or something like that.
