Code completion: Any way to capture contents of the pop-up? lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IPguy · 2011-07-08 00:24 Is there a way to capture the contents of a code completion pop-up? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CaptBill · 2011-07-08 05:06 It's easy to forget that Lazarus is written in FreePascal so you just locate the pas. file, figure out where the pop-up is populated and store it in a variable of your own(or however you wish). Should be very simple to do this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2011-07-08 10:47 You mean in order to modify the Lazarus IDE, or in order to use a completion window in your own app? The code completion Window itself is part of SynEdit. See example folder, there is a synedit/completion/ folder. (GPL or MPL) The content is delivered by codetools. Search the wiki. If you write an IDE extension, you can make your own calls to codetools. (check the license) The glue between them is in SourceEditor.pp: TSourceEditCompletion (GPL) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IPguy · 2011-07-08 11:53 I'm using TVirtualStringView and a few other add-on components and it would be useful to have the code completion reference information handy in a scratchpad nearby the edit window.  I was not planning to use it as part of a program, just a reference information. Thanks for the hints.  I'll look into some of those. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2011-07-08 12:08 look at function TSourceEditCompletion.InitIdentCompletionValues(S: TStrings): boolean; called by ccExecute For "OnInitIdentCompletion" search main.pp where it should be initialized.
