unit source text fails to load in the source editor lazarus / 9-Editor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vbinsbgn · 2010-08-11 12:22 The last two days I have a very stupid problem. The pascal text of an unit suddenly cannot be loaded in the editor. If I try so, Lazarus hangs... Must be stopped via Task manager. I have tested on spurious characters in the .Pas file: none; I have deleted portions of the text: doesn't help; I have renamed the pas-file and the lpr and lpi files changed: doesn't help; I have even made the file empty: Lazarus still hangs!! I have checked all xml-option-files: nothing found... When I compile the project: no problem at all, everything OK. Im getting crazy........ I cannot debug this unit: very uncomfortable... Somebody some ideas? I'm using Lazarus 0.9.29 on Windows XP SP3 Harry van Binsbergen ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2010-08-11 13:29 Quote from: vbinsbgn on August 11, 2010, 02:22:00 pmI'm using Lazarus 0.9.29 on Windows XP SP3 Which revision? Did you update it in those last 2 days? Before the update which revision/time of 0.9.29 ? Did you see if anything is in the log? --debug-log=C:\log.txt Can you open the unit outside the project (e.g work on anew/empty project and just open it) Do you save the project session in the lpi or as lps, or lps in your user directory (C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\lazarus\projectsessions\) If you remove the project session, any change? Can you open the unit if you rename it to unit.txt ? (any none pascal extension, so no syntax highlighter is used) If you can open it as *.txt, what happens if you then use the context/popup menu and choose to highlight it as pascal? Can you attach (or send by private mail) the source that is needed to reproduce? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vbinsbgn · 2010-08-12 07:07 Quote from: Martin_fr on August 11, 2010, 03:29:28 pmI'm using Lazarus 0.9.29 on Windows XP SP3 QuoteWhich revision? No, I didn't save the session. BTW I cannot find how to do that... There are no project sessions saved. QuoteCan you open the unit if you rename it to unit.txt ? Yes I can open it as a .txt file. But my popup menu doesn't show  the possibility to highlight it as pascal. QuoteCan you attach (or send by private mail) the source that is needed to reproduce? Yes, I'll send you the source text... And ...thank you very much for replying! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vbinsbgn · 2010-08-16 15:07 Problem solved! There was a corrupted installation of RichMemo. Removing, downloading and a new instalation of Richmemo solved the problem...
